We’re evolving how we build ethereum.org. Starting January 20th, we’ve adopted Shape Up cycles – focused 6-week build periods followed by 2-week cooldowns. For Cycle 1, each project below will ship by the end of February – no automatic rollovers to next cycle.

Quick point of clarification: this is the cycle roadmap for ethereum.org the website, not Ethereum the protocol.

We’ll ship the following projects by the end of February in our first cycle:

    Core ethereum.org improvements

    Interactive roadmap 🛣️

Making Vitalik’s Ethereum roadmap more beginner-friendly and interactive, helping newcomers understand Ethereum’s evolution and future.

    Listen-to-learn 🎧

Implementing audio capabilities for key pages, letting users listen to articles instead of reading them.

    Web3 implementation 🔗

Adding native Web3 features to ethereum.org for the first time – wallet connections and direct onboarding to dapps.

    Dashboard hub 📊

Creating a central location for essential Ethereum tracking tools and community resources. Join our Discord to suggest dashboards you think should be included!

    Content updates 📚

    Existing content refresh

One of our biggest priorities is ensuring our documentation stays current with Ethereum’s rapid evolution. We’re conducting a comprehensive update of existing content across the site.

    New educational content

Working with freelance writers to expand our educational resources and fill content gaps.

Want to help create new Ethereum content? Join us on Discord and ask how you can contribute!

    Pectra updates

Preparing ethereum.org content for the Pectra upgrade to ensure our community understands these important protocol updates.

    Translation quality 🌍

Implementing new systems to improve and maintain translation quality across all languages.

    Non-English experience 🌐

Exploring ways to improve the experience for non-English users beyond translations. This could include better feedback systems, UI improvements, or content organization changes – we’ll be testing different approaches during this cycle.

    UI component migration 💨

Working with an existing community contributor to fully migrate from Chakra to Shadcn UI components by the cycle’s end.

    App router migration ⚡

Implementing server components for improved performance and loading times.

    Ecosystem projects

    ethproofs.org 🔍

Launching very soon™: A new platform to track zkVM capabilities, supporting Ethereum’s journey toward beam chain and snarkification.

    Launchpad updates ⚡

Updating launchpad.ethereum.org to support MAXEB changes for validators.

    Project support 🎨

    • Robust Incentives Group (RIG): Supporting the EF research team with branding, web design, and development
    • Geodework Project: Branding and website design (more details soon!)

    Social media engagement 📱

Starting a more active presence across platforms to better engage with the Ethereum community. Initial focus:

    • More regular updates on our work and progress
    • Highlighting community contributions
    • Sharing educational content
    • Building deeper connections with the ecosystem

Distributing acknowledgments to standout 2024 contributors

    Looking ahead

After Cycle 1 ends in February, we’ll take a 2-week cooldown to reflect on our deliverables and plan the next cycle. We’ll post an update during cooldown to share what we shipped and what we learned!
