Trump Media & Technology Group has transferred approximately 4,259 Bitcoin (BTC), worth $343.67 million, to Crypto.com, raising questions about whether the company is preparing to sell part of its cryptocurrency holdings.

    Summary

    • Blockchain tracker Lookonchain flagged a transfer of approximately 4,259 BTC, worth $343.67 million, from wallets linked to Trump Media to Crypto.com.
    • The Bitcoin moved in two transactions of roughly 2,140 BTC and 2,119 BTC, from addresses Arkham labeled as convertible-note collateral.
    • Trump Media’s June 30 SEC filing identified 4,260.73 BTC pledged against its convertible notes, closely matching the latest transfer.
    • Holders of the company’s convertible notes can request cash repayment on November 30, potentially requiring up to $1 billion.
    • The transfer does not establish a Bitcoin sale. Trump Media previously described similar movements to Crypto.com as custody or trading management.

Blockchain tracker Lookonchain identified the November 5 movement and questioned whether Trump Media was selling Bitcoin. Arkham data showed two transfers of 2,140.03 BTC and 2,119.31 BTC at approximately 02:17 UTC from wallets labeled “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral.”

Both transactions went to the same Crypto.com-linked address, identified by its opening characters as 34jvU. The transfers have not been confirmed as sales, and Trump Media has previously used the exchange to manage its Bitcoin holdings.

Trump Media Bitcoin transfer closely matches pledged collateral

The latest movement involved nearly the same amount of Bitcoin that Trump Media previously disclosed as collateral for its convertible debt.

Its second-quarter filing showed that 4,260.73 BTC, valued at approximately $250.46 million on June 30, had been pledged against convertible notes.

The company said those assets were subject to restrictions on withdrawals and distributions under its debt agreements, with the restrictions scheduled to expire no later than May 29, 2028.

Thursday’s transfer was approximately 1.38 BTC below the reported collateral balance. However, the similarity does not establish that the company withdrew the pledged assets or changed their ownership.

The wallet labels suggest a connection to the debt arrangement, but Trump Media has not publicly explained the purpose of the transactions.

The company previously reported holding approximately 14,139 BTC, including pledged holdings, as of July 31.

As crypto.news previously reported, the company disclosed a $238.1 million second-quarter net loss, partly reflecting declining valuations across its investments.

November 30 debt deadline raises questions about Bitcoin sales

Trump Media faces a potential cash repayment obligation later this month under the terms of its convertible notes.

In a November 2 SEC filing, the company disclosed that noteholders can demand cash repayment on November 30, 2026.

The notes were issued in May 2025 with a principal amount of $1 billion and an original issue discount of 4%, generating $960 million in gross proceeds.

If every eligible holder requests repayment, Trump Media could owe approximately $1 billion, plus any applicable accrued interest.

The filing warned that existing cash and available financing might prove insufficient to meet the obligation.

Management identified refinancing, additional borrowing and equity financing among the options available to address the potential payment.

If those measures prove unsuccessful, the company acknowledged that it might need to “sell our bitcoin or other digital asset holdings” to fund the repurchases.

Previous Crypto.com transfers did not necessarily involve selling

The company has faced similar questions after earlier movements involving wallets linked to its Bitcoin treasury.

In May, blockchain analysts identified a 2,650 BTC transfer to Crypto.com, valued at approximately $205 million.

Trump Media subsequently said the coins had been transferred as part of its trading strategy and had not been sold.

Another 2,628 BTC movement occurred in early August, involving approximately $165 million at the time.

Following that transaction, a company spokesperson again denied a sale, describing the movement as custody management.

Crypto.com has served as one of Trump Media’s Bitcoin custody partners alongside Anchorage Digital.

Those previous explanations leave open the possibility that Thursday’s transactions involved another internal custody arrangement.

Trump Media’s Bitcoin holdings await updated disclosure

The company’s June 30 financial statements recorded 9,477.16 BTC as digital assets, separate from amounts pledged for financing arrangements.

Another 2,077.34 BTC had been pledged for its Bitcoin options strategy, under which the counterparty could reuse the collateral.

Trump Media reported a combined $360.65 million loss related to digital assets and pledged assets during the first six months of 2026.

Its financial statements included both unrealized valuation losses and losses associated with transactions involving digital assets.

Under the proposed merger arrangements, a failure to meet required note repurchases could trigger defaults under the company’s debt agreements.
